I purchased this camera for producing professional video. At first i was really not sure as this is a type style (dvhd mini) recorder. Its features are extensive and the quality of the glass is just flat outstanding. Ease of use is somewhat difficult at first. Understanding the plethora of settings in this camera are a challenge but the benefits outweigh the learning curve. This unit is heavy and large be ready for it. A very heavy duty tripod is highly recommended. The audio mixing capabilities for gain adjustments can be operated manually or full auto for the duel xlr mic ports. This unit also has built in nd filters for condition changes in the field.
I bought this camera with the intension of receiving a great hd camera. I was a little unsure about this purcahse because i did not know a lot about the model. But after doing some reserch i found that it had all the feature i was looking for. I must say that the service from the seller is exceptional and quite efficient. They even included extra batteries which came in handy at the times when i needed them. I am truley happy and contented with this purchased and would advise others to use this company’s servies. Jvc has alway been my favorite barand, a matter of fact i use no other brand of camera, they are univeral and serve their purpose in the class of camera they fall into. I quality of the video i capture was high enough to put out high res picture and top class pvs.
This is a really great camera. It is a little older, so you will need to know how to deal with some more legacy devices (like a dte) if you want to get the most out of it, but i can’t really see how to get a better camera for the price these things go for. Expect to spend extra money on things like after-market batteries and the like, and be sure to get a good tripod. It’s heavy, and not well balanced if you put an ab battery – and adapter plate – etc, so it will easily fall over it its on a poor tripid, and then you will be very sad. All in all though, if you want great capability and are willing to put up with a little bit of extra effort to work with an older camera, this is a great choice. On the company, i have to say my experience with them was less than hot. They sent me a broken camera, which was no good, but they replaced it pretty promptly and actually replaced it with a slightly nicer camera, which was really good of them, but that camera arrived missing the adapter that holds the microphone on, which was not so good. When i asked them to find me the adapter they were super friendly, which was good, but the adapter was never sent, which was a lot less than good. So, i can’t say the buying experience was so great, but i would not use that adapter very often (who uses the boom mic anyway?) and i love the camera and the upgrade, though minor, was still very generous.
- Five stars for the camera, slightly fewer for the vendor.
